چکیده
The increasing burden on South African road networks necessitates sustainable solutions that conclude their spatial configuration and arrangement. A deeper understanding of the existing network’s organisation is, therefore, required. This study evaluates structural design in Kimberley, Africa, using network science open-source OpenStreetMap data. Nonplanar-directed multigraphs for Kimberley are constructed to analyse morphological characteristics network. area was evaluated with several network-analysis methods such as completeness, degree centrality, betweenness, closeness, PageRank. found has a low centrality 0.00111. indicates should be less congested because there fewer vulnerable spots. Because availability two-way streets, total edge length is nearly double street length. There 2.97 streets radiating from nodes average. suggests three-way intersections prevalent Kimberley. متن کاملAnalyzing the Spatial Pattern of Drought in Central and South Zagros Using Remote Sensing Indicators
Introduction: As a complex phenomenon occurring due to a long period of poor precipitation, drought causes water scarcity in the soil and the hydrological system via hydrological, bringing about long-term consequences which may lead to severe economic, environmental, and social problems worldwide. Droughts are classified into four types: meteorological (rainfall), agricultural (soil’s moisture)...
متن کاملPillar Design in the Hard Rock Mines of South Africa
This paper gives an overview of the difficulties associated with the design of hard rock pillars in South African mines. Recent examples of large scale pillar collapses in South Africa suggest that these were caused by weak partings which traversed the pillars. Currently two different methods are used to determine the strength of pillars, namely, empirical equations derived from back analyses o...
